LOCKLEAZE HOCKEY PITCH

At Verde, we’ve really enjoyed working closely in design, construction, and maintenance alongside the brilliant Lockleaze Sports Centre in Bristol for several years.

They’re a charity committed to delivering affordable first-class sports, education, health improvement and inclusive social facilities to the local community and beyond.

Their aim is to engage with as many individuals as possible, particularly young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, to provide an opportunity for them to benefit mentally and physically from a wide range of participatory sports and educational activities.

In our time working with them, we’ve constructed and maintained specialist artificial pitches for rugby and football, a multi-use games area, and even a four-court padel centre.

Over the past few months we’ve been working on the latest addition to the roster, an elite hockey surface.

The new state-of-the-art blue pitch is FIH certified, with dedicated player and spectator areas. It also comes with a specialist geotextile layer installed over the compacted formation, providing lateral drainage into the main storm water carrier system.

As well as hockey, it also accommodates other popular sports such as rugby union, lacrosse, and football.

On top of all the other great facilities, there really is something for everyone at Lockleaze Sports Centre.
